I came here in the spring completely lost. I didn’t know who I was or where I was going. I didn’t know what I needed. I honestly felt like I knew nothing. One thing was clear – I needed help.

I signed up for Affirming Potential, but I was told they wouldn’t be having the class. I was the only one who had signed up. Instead, I was encouraged to stay for Healing the Heart. At the time, I thought, I don’t need this. I need to know my potential. I was very down on myself then.

Kyra was convincing and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings, so I stayed, I finished the Healing the Heart class – and I discovered that God knew what He was doing. That class was exactly where I needed to start.

After taking Affirming Potential this fall, I can see it clearly. I had already discovered who I am and where I’m going. This time, I didn’t need answers about my worth, I needed guidance and a few more steps to keep moving forward.

My facilitator, Joan, was amazing. She was sweet and kind. When we got a little out of control, she let us – but she always brought us back. The two other women in my class were such a blessing. I had known one of them for a while, but not deeply. Now, I can truly call them friends, and I love them dearly.

I’ve made other friends too. One night, my daughter said, “You don’t have to go.” I asked, “What do you mean?” She said, “It’s not that important.” I remember thinking, Oh my gosh, how dare she say that….She didn’t understand.

If I missed class, I felt like I was letting myself down. I was also letting down my facilitator and the women in my class. Even the others I met with at dinner each Thursday night mattered. We shared deeply. We learned from one another.

So no – you can’t get rid of me.  And you won’t….I’ll be back again and again.
